What is the Shadow Immobiliser?

The Shadow Immobiliser is the UK’s first connected immobiliser for vehicles, it allows you to secure your vehicle with both innovative and reliable technology. It automatically immobilises your vehicle when the ignition is switched off. Shadow Immobiliser is operated through the presence of the bespoke Driver Detection Cards, which eliminate any need for the remobilising of the vehicle through the manual processes such as sequencing.


What Happens if my battery runs flat on the Deactivation Cards?

Shadow Immobiliser comes with two Shadow Driver Detection Cards and also a USB charging cable.  In the event the battery in either of the cards deplete, just  plug into a USB using the provided charging cable and wait 30 minutes to receive a full charge, or until the green LED light appears on the card.

What if I lose my cards or they are stolen?

If you loose either of your Shadow Driver Detection cards, please contact Global Telemetrics on 0800 279 6401 to purchase new cards. Any lost cards will be remotely deactivated. In addition, you will be given access to the Shadow Immobiliser Android/Apple app, this can also be used to disarm your vehicle in the interim period until your new cards arrive.

Can the product be transferred to a new vehicle?

Unfortunately the Shadow Immobiliser can’t be transferred to an alternative vehicle. Please contact us if you do require another Shadow Immobiliser.

Can this be installed to vehicle types such as classic cars or Hybrid/Electric vehicles?

Yes, by using intelligent and advanced technology, it can be fitted to all vehicle types including Classic cars, Hybrid and Electric vehicles.

What do I do when my vehicle goes in for servicing?

“Service Mode” is quick and easy to do via the mobile app for when you require a service. Just simply activate the Service Mode to enable the vehicle to be driven without your Shadow Driver Detection Card. Always remember to deactivate Service Mode once the vehicle is back from its service and once more in your possession.

How long will the installation take?

This can vary depending upon the actual vehicle type, age, make and model all contribute to the time taken. However, on average as a guide, please allow 2.5 hours for installation to be completed.

How close does the card need to be to the vehicle in order to start?

The distance will vary depending on the vehicle type and the installation location of the device within the vehicle. However, the card is required to be within the vehicle, or just outside, to allow the vehicle to start. It is recommended that you keep your Driver Detection cards within a Faraday Pouch whilst not in use, including your spare cards.

Will my vehicle arm the immobilisation straight away?

Allow up to 90 seconds for the Immobiliser to activate once the ignition has been turned off.

What happens if I have issues starting my vehicle?

In the event you have issues with your vehicles battery, please check it is fully charged first of all. Also check other common items that cause your vehicle not to start including making sure that your Shadow Driver Detection Cards  are charged and switched on.  If further assitance is required and we installed the device please get in touch. 

Is there an ongoing cost?

No, this is a standalone immobilisation system, therefore no subscription or ongoing costs are required.

Is there any warranty included?

The Shadow Immobiliser comes with 12 months manufacturer warranty included.

Will the product void my vehicle manufacturer warranty?

Although we are not aware of any instances where a vehicle warranty has been voided due to the presence of a Shadow Immobiliser, it is always advisable to speak with the manufacturer for confirmation.

What if someone borrows my car?

As well as the Shadow Driver Detection cards, you will also have access to the Shadow Immobiliser mobile app. Through the mobile app, you can disable the immobilisation, this will enable you to lend the car to another driver without having to supply the deactivation cards.

What happens when I sell my vehicle?

To confirm your vehicle is sold email: Please ensure you include your vehicle registration on your email when confirming the sale. PLEASE NOTE: We will only accept emails from your registered email address only.
