Types of electrics
Below are the various types of electrics we can install.
Single electrics
Single electrics are 7 pin electrics, these give the power to the lights on your trailer or caravan. This type of electrics is the minimum legal requirements for towing. In addition they are also suitable for bike carriers
Twin electrics
Twin electrics use two 7 pin sockets, these can be used to power the road lights, reverse and interior electrics within the vehicle. Furthermore we often find customers run a fridge or freezer from this type of electrics. These are wired to the car which tows the caravan enabling the power be sent to it.
13 Pin
For caravans that were made after 2008 in the UK these come installed with 13 pin connectors. They are twin electrics which are merged into one socket.
Choosing the right electrics is very important, when it comes to caravans it can make a massive difference to the functionality.
Wiring Harnesses
We also supply vehicle specific wiring harnesses. These come in both 7 and 13 pin kits, they can be installed to the interface of your vehicle and used with the original connectors. Furthermore they have the ability to communicate with the vehicle managements system if this is required. For example, trailer stability programs which are present in more modern day vehicles.
